The Gillsmans dog grooming team, headed up by award winning owner Nikki Scott.
Gillsmans is one of a very few dog grooming salons to hold a licentiateship in dog grooming.
OWNER & HEAD TUTOR
Nikki Scott – L.C.G.I, M.C.G
Nikki is the owner and head groomer and Instructor at Gillsmans dog grooming salon with over 20 years experience within the industry.
Nikki has completed the 7750 and completed her level 3 diploma. She has also been awarded a L.C.G.I in dog grooming and has completed the higher level 4 in dog grooming.
In March 2017, Nikki qualified for her master craftsmanship in dog grooming (M.C.G). She also holds a level 3 higher learning certificate and an animal first aid certification.
Nikki is passionate about dogs. She lived with dogs all her life and is a very experienced handler.
LCFrom the age of 3 Nikki has had a close connection to dogs, especially terriers. Nikki was bought up with Westie’s and bred litters within the family home at a very young age and her best friend dice her Staffordshire ball terrier who left paw prints on her heart forever.
Nikki owns 4 dogs; Douglas a buff American cocker that can be seen hanging around the salon he’s lightly shown and competed at grooming shows. Denver a black American cocker that Nikki shows at championship level and has qualified for Crufts the last two years. Boris, a lakeland terrier that has been shown and regularly competed at grooming shows throughout the country. Lastly Luna the labrador who is the sweetest natured girl that likes the more laid back kinda life style.
Nikki attends as many grooming competitions as she can.
Nikki is very passionate about her job “it’s not a job, it’s my life”.

Hollie
She’s keen to get to know all of Gillsmans clientele & their four legged friends with customer care at the forefront.
She is a true dog lover and owns two Labradors within the family home.
Hollie is currently studying her level 3 diploma in dog grooming and has gained a K9 first aid & K9 teeth cleaning qualification.
She is a natural with the dogs here at Gillsmans & this shows with her high standard of grooming and handling. I’m excited to watch her grow as she has a real love and passion for it.
The dogs just love her !!
Laura
Laura brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in dog grooming, holding both Level 2 and Level 3 City & Guilds qualifications, as well as a Canine First Aid certificate. Her skill and attention to detail ensure every dog in her care not only looks their best but feels relaxed and happy throughout their groom.
Laura has a naturally kind, caring, and patient manner, which shines through in her work with both dogs and clients alike. Her calm approach helps even the most nervous pets feel comfortable and secure, making every grooming session a positive experience.
With a background in teaching, Laura is also a fantastic support to our students — always willing to share her knowledge, offer guidance, and help them build confidence as they develop their skills.
We’re thrilled to have Laura as part of our team — her professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for dogs make her a perfect fit for Gilman’s Grooming Company.
